Storage Calculations

• Each blob has 64MB of metadata independent of the blob size
• Total encoded size is calculated as 5x the un-encoded size
• Blob size is limited to 13GB maximum
• For Batched Uploads, a maximum of 600 patches per quilt is used

Cost Calculations

• Storage costs are calculated per epoch (2 weeks)
• Upload costs are calculated per upload operation
• Transaction costs include 3 Sui transactions per blob
• All costs are converted to USD using current token values

File Size Recommendations

• Files under 64MB are recommended to use batched uploads
• Single file uploads are less efficient for small files due to encoding metadata overhead
• Storage period under 12 months assumes that the uploader will keep uploading the same files for the same storage period until it reaches 1 year mark. Storing files this way is inefficient and may incur unnecessary costs.
